Travelling with Rich

We spent today at Icy Strait Point and walked to the tiny town of Hoonah, AK. Today's weather is the best we've had with only a few showers and a liitle sun peeking through the clouds. This wool probably be the last post until Monday due to network limitations.

Today's travels took us to Juneau, which is Alaska's state capitol. The trip to Mendenhall Glacier was exciting; pictures to be posted later. My impression of Juneau is that it lacks charm, possibly because so much of the downtown is tourist-focused. There are too many tourist shops, many selling the same stuff. The local shops have been driven out... There are four cruise ships in port today and downtown was very crowded. The wind and rain did not make it any better.

I think it is going to be a very full flight. One Southwest flight to LAX has been cancelled. Glad it wasn't my flight to Seattle. How come I can barely hear my gate announcements? Time to board. On my way!
